Come help celebrate our 40th Year of HOPE BRIGADE DAYS!
Brigade Days is truly an "end of summer" party that you can't miss. Plan to be here for three days on September 5th, 6th & 7th, 2008. Pick up a "Briggie Button" entrance pass and a Calendar of Events so that you don't miss any of the events.
We are getting ready to hold our 40th annual celebration, known as the Hope Brigade Days. And, yes, that big 40 makes us go bananas in an XL way!!

The International
Carving Competition is back this year, making an early start on Thursday, September 4th. But the Briggie weekend really kicks off at
7:00 p.m.on Friday night with live entertainment by Johnny Cash and . ?.?.?
This fabulous show - which is sponsored by Envision Financial - is interrupted at about 8:30
for the official opening by dignitaries, followed by a spectacular, anniversary special Fireworks display.
And all the above is taking place on the 6th Avenue fairgrounds -
admission after 6:00 p.m. Friday, only by Briggie Button.
Hikers make an early start on Saturday (September 6) when the Hope Hustle takes off at 8:00 a.m. Then after ten o’clock the Hope Rotary Club starts
assembling the famous Parade, which moves off at 11:00 a.m. -
best viewing is along Wallace Street (see Route).
The parade ends at the recreation complex on 6th Avenue, and that’s where Brigade Days kicks
into another gear - from 12 noon on the fairgrounds will be buzzing (and not just with chainsaws).
There will be a concession area / food court, bingo in the curling rink, newly expanded children’s
programs with entertainers and Briggie’s own inflatables and, now for the first time,
the brand new Laser Tag - if you like paint ball, even a little bit, you’ll just love Laser Tag!
And of course, there’ll be the music / talent show
on the stage behind the pool,
as well as the 4x4 event in the sportsbowl.
And this year there’s another brand new event - Sheepdog Trials.
And when all this is over, you’ll be happy to catch a breather before going on
to the traditional Homecoming Dance the Hope Lions put on in the curling rink.
At 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, the Canyon Golden Agers open the
doors of the curling rink to let you come in and enjoy their famous Briggie Breaky,
which will sustain you for the final day.
By mid morning things start humming again,
with the carvers putting on the finishing touches, the demo derby crews getting their cars hotted
up for the afternoon’s main event, the best of the sheepdog handlers entering their
final competition (11:00 a.m.) and the children’s games back in full swing.
Then at 3:00 p.m. the demo derby let’s loose in their usual bash-’em, crash-’em, smash-’em fashion. And around 5:00 p.m. the Grand Finale - the Briggie Draw - will bring the weekend to a close, after which Briggie Pete leaves town to spend another year on the prospecting trails.
Come Join Us and Enjoy!!
